Privacy Policy

ShotPrep is a web application for film pre-production. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Made Gentle Studios Inc. operates ShotPrep and is responsible for the personal information we collect through the service, as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

We collect information you give us and information generated when you use ShotPrep.

Account information may include your name, email address, and details about how you sign in (for example, that you use Google or email/password). We may also collect basic profile information your login provider shares with us when you choose to use it.

Usage and technical information may include device and browser type, general location derived from IP (such as country or region), log data, and similar diagnostics that help us run and improve the product.

We may use cookies, session tokens, local storage, or similar technologies that are needed for login, security, fraud prevention, and basic product functionality.

We use information to provide ShotPrep, create and maintain your account, sync your work across sessions, respond to support requests, improve reliability and performance, protect the service from abuse and fraud, and comply with law where required.

We may send service-related messages (such as security notices or billing receipts). If we ever send optional product updates, we will give you a way to opt out where the law requires it.

If you sign in with Google, Google processes your credentials according to its own policies. We receive information Google shares with us (such as your email and a stable account identifier) so we can create your ShotPrep account and keep you signed in.

You can review Google’s privacy settings in your Google account. Disconnecting or revoking access in Google may limit how you can use ShotPrep until you sign in another way, if we offer one.

ShotPrep is built around your projects. We store user-created content such as shotlists, storyboards, lighting diagrams, scripts and documents, images, other files you upload, and related metadata (for example titles, ordering, and timestamps).

File and object storage for the product is configured as private storage, meaning we do not intend for your uploads to be publicly listed or downloadable without authorization through the app.

Paid plans may include document backups or version history so you can recover earlier versions of your work. That means we may retain prior copies for a period of time as part of providing those features.

When you purchase a paid ShotPrep plan, your contract for the subscription is with Made Gentle Studios Inc.. Checkout and payment processing are handled by Stripe (or another processor we may use). Stripe receives the payment details needed to process charges. We do not store your full payment card number on our own servers.

We may receive billing-related information from Stripe (such as subscription status, last four digits of a card where shown, and receipt metadata) so we can manage your plan inside ShotPrep.

We host ShotPrep using service providers and apply access controls and industry-typical practices designed to protect accounts and data. No online service can promise perfect security; you use ShotPrep understanding that risk remains.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account.

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete content or close your account, we work to delete or anonymize it within a reasonable time, subject to backups, legal holds, and technical limits. Features such as version history or backups may keep older copies until those records expire or you delete them through the product, as applicable.

We rely on vendors to run ShotPrep. Today that includes Supabase for authentication, database, and storage, and Stripe for billing. Those providers process data on our behalf according to their terms and privacy policies.

We may add or change providers as the product grows. If we make a material change to who holds personal data or how it is used, we will update this policy or notify you as appropriate.

ShotPrep is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also notify you by email or an in-product notice where practical.
